Eriez Permanent Magnetic Separators require no electric power. With proper care, they can last a lifetime with very little loss of magnetic field strength. Eriez permanent magnets are supplied for a wide range of applications including dry bulk materials, liquids or slurries and even high temperature applications.

In magnetic separation at field strengths used in mineral dressing all ferro-magnetic minerals become saturated. They include magnetic pyrrho­ tite, magnetopyrite, and ferrosilicon. Magnetite has an X value of 93 e.m.u./g. Between this and non-magnetic minerals are a number of weakly magnetic and conditionally magnetic minerals.
